Most green aventurine on the market is sourced from India, particularly Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Brazilian and Russian deposits also produce high-grade material. The green color comes from inclusions of fuchsite — a chrome-bearing mica — and the more fuchsite, the more saturated and shimmery the stone.
Beyond its luck symbolism, aventurine is one of the gentlest heart-chakra stones. While rose quartz works with romantic and self-love, aventurine focuses on emotional resilience, optimism, and the courage to start new ventures. It pairs particularly well with citrine (which adds confidence and abundance) and clear quartz (which amplifies intention).
In Indian and feng shui traditions, aventurine is placed on office desks, in cash boxes, and at home entrances to attract steady, organic growth — the slow, steady prosperity of the tortoise rather than overnight windfalls.
Cleanse with running water or by burying briefly in earth. Recharge under moonlight or sunlight. Aventurine is durable enough for daily wear in jewelry but should be removed before contact with harsh chemicals.
Green aventurine has been associated with chance and opportunity for centuries — its sparkly inclusions reminded ancient miners of glittering riches. Today it is recommended for taking exams, attending interviews, and starting any new venture.
No, but they are often confused because of their similar green color. Aventurine is a quartz with mica inclusions; jade is either jadeite or nephrite — different minerals entirely. Aventurine is sometimes marketed as 'Indian Jade,' but the two are not equivalent.
Green aventurine is a primary heart (anahata) chakra stone. It supports emotional balance, openness, and the courage to pursue new directions.
Carry a small tumble in your pocket or purse, place a cluster on your office desk, or keep it near your front entrance. Many people also keep it inside their wallet or near their cash counter.
